Tip Tuesday - Cleaning Supplies
Keeping your cleaning supplies organized and easily accessible will make tackling the never-ending chore list a little bit easier! Plus, it helps you know what you have so you don’t overbuy and you only purchase the items you need.
Gather all of the cleaners from around your home in one location before starting the steps below!
DECLUTTER
Throw away trash & dispose of things you don’t use
SORT
First, sort items by storage location. Then within those groups - sort them by type & purpose of cleaner.
Make a list of what you need to replace or replenish.
Wipe the containers down & vacuum out the cabinets/closet you store them in while they are empty.
CONTAIN
You don’t HAVE to do this step. But as with almost everything, containing the items gives everything a specific “home.” This is key in maintaining your newly organized space.
Choose one or two spaces, depending on the layout of your home, to store cleaning supplies. (bathrooms & laundry room or bathrooms & under the kitchen sink, etc.)
Determine which containers will fit best in your space. You can use baskets, turntables, rods, etc. Measure before you purchase!
Keep the items you use more frequently at the front of your space.
If you have extra or “back stock” keep those nearby but they don’t have to be in the front of your space.
MAINTAIN
Make sure everything has a home - if you want to step it up a notch, label the containers!
Consistently put things away when you finish using them
